3323 | After leaving Mellerud, we hurry to get to Dals Långed, where we want to catch Green Cargo / DVVJ T44 nr 344 driving to Billingsfors. They apparently had to wait some time in Mellerud, because it took some waiting before we heard the distinct typhoon of the T44 in the distant. The nice curved layout of Dals Långed made for a beautiful shot and after a greeting from the driver we rush to Billingsfors to be able to catch the arrival of the train. Luckily they had to slow down in Långbron and we were able to arrive on time to set up the tripod and see the train entering the yard. Since the DVVJ took over the Mellerud - Billingsfors operation from Green Cargo and the paper mill in Åsensbruk shut down, the actual shunting in Billingsfors is rather simple. The (too long) train is pushed on the loading track and they only had to take two woodwagons out for the next day (otherwise the track would not be clear for the passenger train). The shunter (K-G) is using the control panel to clear the signals for the passenger trains that will pass. In the evening (when the woodwagons were loaded) they changed the two wagons. |
