107 | The 9th part of the video from our rail trip to Sweden in June 2006. Our train did just depart from Vetlanda and is heading for Kvillsfors. We rush to overtake it and make two nice shots of the freight train passing by. The T44 (nr 398) arrives at Kvillsfors and the shunting begins. First they move the 'aluminium' wagon onto the track to Järnforsen (I don't know if it is in use nowadays, but it seemed abandoned) that used to lead to Viserum) and then pick up the wagons that are ready (among which were the special wagons that are only allowed to travel between Kvillsfors and Pauliström). The new wagons are left on the loading track and we leave for the yard again where the train to Pauliström is formed. After some shunting the train leaves for Pauliström, where the Metsä paper mill is paid a visit. Here the yard is very small and the amount of wagons too big for its length, so the shunting takes some time (nice!) Actually, in winter times the shunting is much more time consuming, as we found out later when we had to wait a time long before the trip to Vetlanda / Nässjö could be made. (its schedule is based on winter -- shunting time). When all the wagons are pused onto the siding, the return trip to Kvillsfors is made. Here the T44 had to wait before the 'green' to Vetlanda was given. |
