3132 | In the evening of 21-7-2015 I visited the station of Mellerud. A nice station that I’ve visited before, although many of the tracks are not in use anymore. Also the goods shed was taken down some years ago and the ‘lastområdet’ is no longer in use (although it seems abandoned). There is a siding to the eastern industrial area (not in use anymore) that used to run all the way to the lake ‘Vänern’. The first train we see is the X52 9078 from Västtrafik on its way to Åmål. The SJ Z6 (Z64) 354 (as far as I know it is owned by JÅÅJ) is standing on the old freight tracks. Next the container train from TM Rail to Örebro (46054 ) with a Siemens Vectron 193 is stopping shortly to let the TågAB train to Göteborg pass (Rc3 1062). Normally it would take the 'other way' around Vänern, but due to maintenance in Alingsås, one track was down and freight traffic was re-routed. Finally I also catch the Green Cargo container train pulled by two Rd2 engines (the first is the 1106) from Göteborg to Hallsberg with a broken headlight. |
